From approximately the same spot as the previous photo but at a slightly different angle, you can see the changes made in 40 years.  Based on the automobiles, this is probably taken in 1959 or 1960.  The junction had yet to be paved over for busses and patrons could still get a close parking spot if they arrived early enough.
